IP address conflict

I get an error message that says, "There is an IP address
conflict with another system on the network." I have a
wireless connection to the internet through linksys
devices and sfotware. Is this a problem with my setup
there?

Do you only have one PC on your network? If you have multiple PCs, verify
that they are all set to recieve there IP address via DHCP (likely the
Linksys device). If you only have one PC, verify that it is set to DHCP and
that the DHCP service is enabled on your Linksys device (and that the IP
address pool is more than just a few IP address).

Is your wireless network encrypted? If not, it's possible that one of
your neighbors has a computer that's connecting to your network and
causing the conflict.

I recommend:

1. Changing the router's SSID to something other than the default
"Linksys".

2. Changing the router's channel to 1 or 11, not the default 6.

3. Enabling WEP encryption.
