IP address conflict - System Error message

I'm getting a repetitive pop-up message
! Windows - System Erro
There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network

What does this mean? How do I correct it? Help
I'm Clueless!

Hi,

This error msg u get bcoz there is another machine in your network that has
the same IP address.
It will be easy for any one to trouble shoot if u give the details of ur
network like the below :

1.Is ur machine connected to the LAN
2. Are u using DHCP ? or static IP addresses ?
3. Are there any routers on ur n/w ? if yes what model ?

However i m giving u some basic troubleshooting steps below :
