My IP address comes up as "fe80::5efe:192.168.1.101%2" when I type IPCONFIG
in CMD.

Please help!!

My OS is Microsoft XP Home Edition.

Matthew,

From what I can tell this is a legitimate IP address, what's the problem
exactly?

On my other computer which is a Microsoft Xp Profession it does not come up
with the wierd numbers and figures it just comes up with 192.168.1.101.1 so
it would seem as a problem.

This is OK. It is displaying in IPv6 format.

-- try ipconfig /all
to get both ipv4 and ipv6 -- ipaddress

if you want to uninstall ipv6
follow
uninstall IPV6
click on start
click on run
cmd
netsh int ipv6 uninstall

any time in future if you want to reinstall ipv6
install IPV6
click on start
click on run
cmd
netsh int ipv6 install
