Iomega Zip not recognized

I have installed the WinXP Pro drivers from Iomega for my parellel port Zip
Drive and under MY Computer it isn't recognized, help will be appreciated.

You may need to assign your iomega parallel drive a letter. Do this:

Click Start, click Run. Type in "diskmgmt.msc" (no quotes). When the
Disk Management dialog opens, look for your drive. Right click on it,
select properties and assign it a drive letter. Close Disk Management
and reboot your machine. The drive should then show up in My Computer
and Explorer.

For my Zip 100 Parallel to work, I had to shut down the computer,
connect the drive, and restart. But after removing the Parallel version
and restarting, I got my hands on a USB version. It installed quickly
and smoothly when I connected it. No restart was necessary.

Unfortunately, I never did get my Iomega Parallel 100 zip to work correctly under XP to my satisfaction. So I use CDRWs instead. Cheaper than the zip disks too. May have to find a Win 9* computer with a burner to connect the zip to so you can transfer.

Does your setup include a parallel port printer (or scanner) as well? Try to set up with no other parallel devices attached. Does the light on the drive come on at all during boot? Is it turned on first, then start the computer. There is a lot to check here......
