We are running a command-line modeling package under Windows XP and Windows
2000. We get the error referenced above on all the XP machines
intermittently when we run modeling jobs. Sometimes no error at all, but we
are more likely to get it if there are multiple jobs running. We do not have
this problem on Windows 2000. The error seems to indicate a hardware
problem, but that seems unlikely since diagnostics come back negative and the
problem occurs on several systems. I suspect something to do with the way
the DOS virtual machine operates under XP as opposed to 2000. Does anyone
have some good resources on these differences, or have you had similar
problems?
