Involuntary Cursor Movement

Problem: My cursor moves involuntarity. I do not need to
move the mouse. It also will open and close programs as
moves erratically across the screen.

I have determined it is not a mouse problem or a third
party software problem. Any ideas?

Computer Basics
Windows XP SP1
AMD Athlon XP 2200+
1.0 GB RAM

It sounds like your mouse has the "smart mouse" option
enabled. Go into your mouse properties in the control
panel and click on the various tabs to configure it
properly. Good luck.
