Involuntary copy of email as .txt attachment

I have Outlook 2002 on Win XP Pro. Today all incoming emails have a copy of the email as a .txt attachment. Even emails that I send to myself without an attachment. I have made no changes to any option or setting in Outlook. Cannot find any reference to this problem in Knowledge Base.

Does anyone know why Outlook would suddenly begin generating these copy attachments?

Did you ever figure this out? The same thing is happening to me. It's been
going on since yesterday, and it's driving me nuts!

No, I never figured it out. Strangely, the behavior stopped after about one
day, just as abruptly as it started, and I have no idea whether I
accidentally changed a setting or whatever. It has not happened to me since.
I hope you can figure it out, or that the Microsoft Fairy stops it from
happening to you to. :)
