Inviting attendees

I have tried the inviting attendees option in outlook 2003 and sending the
invitation by e-mail to a friend who similarly has 2003. In my outbox I see
how the e-mail should look with accept, decline etc. All they get is an
e-mail full of text and difficult to decipher.

Ensure you set the invite to use Rich Text Format for the recipient.

Thanks for the speedy response but I'm still having problems.

I have set mail format options to rich text and internet format to send
using outlook rich text format, but the same thing happens, ie, the recipeint
just gets a page of plain text but I have correct message in my sent box.
