invite attendees from email not exchange server

I'm unsure of what you're asking. If you use Exchange, then clearly your
account is an Exchange account and so naturally the invitations will come
from the server (i.e., the server will deliver them).

Is there any way to have the invitations
only come from my regular email address and not the exchange
address. I only use the exchange to keep my laptop, desktop and
cell phone, Outlook files updated. I have my regular email on the
same desktop as the one I am trying to send the invites from.

When Exchange is one of the accounts, it tends to take over being the
default account. When you send the invitations, do you specify the sending
account?

Have you spoken with the IT people? If you're using Exchange, I would think
there are IT people you can consult.
