Invisible username at login

One of my users (admin permission) no longer appears as an icon at login. I
can login with the user name only when the "welcome screen" is disabled,
however I, of course, cannot use the sitch user option in this case. How do
I retrieve the login icon?

Try this:

open regedit & navigate to:

"HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList"

add a new value in the right hand pane with the user name and give it a DWORD value of 1.
