when I load some programs, the sub menu will go invisble,
this seems to be related to Aol or Power Tools, one or
the other or both are causing the problem. If I launch IE
and leave it running, menus stay visible, but if I launch
Aol alone the menus go invisble. If you move the mouse
cursor over the menu the menus becomes visible while the
menu is open, if menu closes and you reopen menu is
invisble again. happens eveytime. The problem also seems
to effect the help for Visual Studio 2003 Pro, help will
not appear and message says to select items to use
offline, offline selection is disabled so no can make
offline enabled.

Sounds like an AOL (software) problem, possibly video card
driver needs to be updated . . .

Good Luck !

I'm not familiar with Power Tools (you don't mean the MS Power Toys, do
you?), but if the problem started after you installed this program, try
uninstalling the program. Or you might go to the software mftr.'s
website and see if there is something like a knowledge base, FAQ, user
forums, etc. that might tell you if this is a known issue. Perhaps
there is a workaround or a patch and you can keep the program if you
like it. I readily admit that I'm no fan of AOL, but lots of my clients
use it and I haven't seen it cause the problem you describe. That's not
to say a combination of things you have installed mightn't do it; just
that I think someone would have called me if AOL software was routinely
doing this.

Oh. No, I've never used AOL. Try uninstalling the add-on then. AOL's
software is generally poorly written; perhaps this piece is, too. In
any case, your next step is to contact AOL tech support for problems
with their software. Good luck.
