Invisible letters in Word

I am typing in Word and when my character marks are showing the letters are
visible, but when they are not the characters are invisable and the print
preview show them as invisible. The font color is black. What is wrong?

Sounds like your font is formatted as Hidden, Angela. Select it, hit
Format-->Font and uncheck Hidden.
