Invisible Formulas / Copying

I have a very odd situation going on with excel 2007, and thought I would try
a post here, before I try a total Office re-install:

I have an excel spreadsheet with a variety of formulas in the rows.
Starting today, when I copy/paste a formula from one row, to the other rows
in the column, rather than pasting the formula, it "appears" to copy the
formula ok, then, immediately, does a copy, paste values into the destination
cells. That is what it seems to be doing, altho I realize that is not likely.

point is, when I click on the destination cells, after the paste (even if I
do paste formulas), there is no formula in the cell, but rather, the actual
value that would have resulted from the formula, instead.

Hope that makes sense. About ready to do an uninstall, reinstall, before a
total system rebuild, if that doesn't work. But if there is an easy fix,
would appreciate any insights.

Thanks!
