I developed a parts inventory database & the only thing I can't seem to find
is information on what I need to do during entries to get it to maintain a
running total. When I'm purging a part do I need to go into the same entry
from when the part came in & adjust the in-stock balance or do I make a new
entry showing that part quantity being purged in a purged column & have a
calculation somewhere?

I've already viewed the inventory management template & am not seeing what
would do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The running total should NOT BE STORED ANYWHERE. Calculate it on the fly with
a totals query instead.

Have you looked at the Northwind database samples? C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Samples Check out the "orders form" I know
its not inventory but it has some great examples of quantity, summing and so
on.
