The easiest and safest way to deal with invalid registry
keys is to use an application like RegscrubXP. This
effectively searches your registry for invalid keys and
gives you the opportunity to delete them.
RegscrubXP is a freeware application. I don't have a web
address to hand, but just type RegscrubXP into your
favourite search engine and it should give you a suitable
site to download it from.
