Invalid page fault

Everytime I open IE I receive this error: MWSVM caused an invalid page fault i
module <unknown> or module kernel32.dll sometimes. Nothing happens I just hit close and I continue going. But I have tried to research this error and cannot find out what it means.

Scandisk from DOS prompt:
Bootup using your "Windows Startup Disk"
Select #4
At the DOS prompt,
type the following line,
and press <enter>.

SCANDISK /ALL /SURFACE

Remove the floppy, and press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot.

Sorry, but I thought everyone in the whole world used Microsoft Windows
Update and Scandisk on a consistent basis...then updated their video drivers
at the manufacture's site?
