Invalid Key

I have a problem with my old Dell computer it had the Windows Xp Professional
key on the case and when I reinstalled windows xp it said that the key was
invalid? After contacting Dell they told me that the Computer was out of
Warrenty and it was no longer their problem?

Any help?

Two points:

1. Did you reinstall Windows using the CD that came with the computer,
or did you use some other one? If the latter, that's probably why the
key didn't work.

2. Be very careful that you read the letters and number of the key
correctly. It's easy to mix up Z with 2, B with 8, etc.
