I set up my Windows Mail account using my gmail account. It downloaded all
of my mail from gmail, and it was in working order for about five minutes.
Then the window popped up that said Windows Mail has rejected my login, asks
me to log back in, which I did with and without @gmail.com and it says
'invalid credentials' a44if2687622rne.0
I just went BACK on because another inactivity window came up and I could
access my inbox for about 20 seconds, hit the sent items folder and the
window saying 'an unknown error has occured'
configuration
Account: imap.gmail.com
Server: imap.gmail.com
Protocol: IMAP
Secure (SSL): 1
Code: 800ccc03

I've read a lot of things saying it may be my antivirus software but I don't
have Norton, I have Trend Micro PC-cillin that I paid to be preinstalled.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Any feedback would help my
frustrations at least.

Thanks
Claire

A recent version of the Trend antivirus software (details not available)
also causes assorted problems in Windows Mail, and must be
uninstalled to stop it from causing new problems.

However, your error message looks like it didn't come from
Windows Mail; check if it came from Windows Live Mail instead.

Stated as for OE, but you need the same settings for WM.

Thanks Mac I tried this earlier. Now all seems to be going well, except that
it won't import my sent folder from gmail even if I ask it to again.
Thoughts? ideas?

Now when I send/receive it's telling me this
Header download for the '[Gmail]' folder did not complete. Could not select
'[Gmail]' on the IMAP server. You might try refreshing your folder list to
synchronize with the IMAP server. Account: 'imap.gmail.com', Server:
'imap.gmail.com', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'Unknown Mailbox: [Gmail]
(Failure)', Port: 993, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCCD2

yikes

This is all of it, you must take care and read, not speed read.
