Invalid Bracketing of Name 'mdb.'. Error

thall

I receive this error Invalid Bracketing of Name 'mdb.'. when importing data
from an Access 2003 DB into a pivot table. The datasource is a qry in access
that resides on my desktop. When I enter the pivot table and select external
data. I navigate to my eu.mdb file. I select the qry and do not apply any
filters or sorts in excel. I am unable to connect as I get the above error.

Has anyone seen this? How can I fix it?

Hi,

1. You might go into Access and look at the query, the message suggests
that some of the field names in the query are invalid - probably [FirstName]
should read FirstName.

2. You might want to post this to the Access Newsgroups.

3. Parameter queries can not be used as a data source from inside of Excel
and parameter queries use [Enter a date] structure.

If this helps, please click the Yes button.

Cheers,
