In bobala03 (e-mail address removed) hunted and pecked:-
My computer shut down while I was away and now I receive the "invalid
boot.ini" message when I try to fire it up. The big problem is that
it
keeps recycling trying to load Windows - to the error message - to
the
windows help page for safe mode, last known good config, etc page. I
have tried to break into DOS with the idea that I should be able to
repair from there but no combination of keys seems to work. Tried
booting from the xp disc and that doesnt work either. Any help would
be
VERY much appreciated !!!
Thanks,
Bob
Thanks for the lead but it doesnt work. When I try to boot from the cd
or an external hd with windows it doesnt recognize either source and
just continues the round robin process of trying to boot and failing-
any other suggestions?? I was thinking that the hard drive itself may
be bad- does that make sense??
