Internet windows keep opening every 5 sec

When i launch my Internet Explorer, my home page opens,
then about every 5 seconds another opens, then another.
They are blank and if I try to close them, it says
windows is busy and closing could cause problems, the
only way I can close them is through task manager.
Any help would be great!! I went to www.lurkhere.com and
downloaded the cwshredder & search & destroy, and they
still keep coming! I am up to 68 now!

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do

I had the exact same problem. I ran Ad-aware and Spybot S&D and that fixed it.
