Hi All,

My connection to the internet is via a high-speed cable modem. Is there a
utility that installs an icon in the system tray to enable/disable the
internet connection with a single click of the mouse? This feature would be
similar to ZoneAlarm's icon in the system tray to lock/unlock the internet
connection.

Also, it would be helpful if the utility had a timed lock to disable the
internet connection after a designated period of time of keyboard or mouse
inactivity.

Thanx,

Create two batch files... one to release your IP address and one to renew
your IP address... and create a shortcut to each in your QuickLaunch
toolbar.

to disconnect:
"winipcfg /release_all" (for Windows 98 and Me)
"ipconfig /release_all" (for Windows XP and 2000)

to connect:
"winipcfg /renew_all" (for Windows 98 and Me)
"ipconfig /renew_all" (for Windows XP and 2000)

if you have a good firewall, like Kerio, installed, there will be a
button to "stop all traffic" so that you can just block and permit as
needed.
