The major networks, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and PBS would not look fondly upon
anyone who would hack their signals and broadcast them on the internet.
Unless, of course, they were getting paid for it. The broadcast airwaves
are provided free of charge, the television time is paid by advertisers.

I do not know of any site that offers television from any broadcaster, large
or small.

If you get an ATI All-in-Wonder or Wonder VE card, you can hook up your cable TV directly to
the PC and watch TV in a Window or in a Full Screen. You could also record a TV show to
MPEG as well as capture NTSC Video and record it in a MPEG file. With the MPEG file you
could then burn a DVD.

You have number of problems.

First problem is Canada Law which is designed to protect the weak Canada
media form US competition.
Second problem is US Law which is designed to protect the local broadcast
monopoles.

If where you live you can install a StarChoice {I think that is about the
correct name} satellite dish and receiver, you can receive some US broadcast
network programs {as I recall most are from Detroit, MI}. However,
satellite/cable programs are another problem. Canada chooses not to permit
any Canada satellite/cable system from carrying some US programs. For
example, the Canadian Government fears FOX News Channel and will not permit
it to be provided by any Canada system.

Some in Canada have purchased a Motorola Digital Satellite Receiver and fake
a US address to obtain programs banned in Canada.

Copyright laws prevent any US networks programs from the internet.
