Im having problems setting up my internet conection to
another computer, i have 4 computers linked up to my home
network, its all through a network hub, i have USB
broadband through AOL, now what im wanting is one computer
on the internet (host computer) and all the others to go
on the internet just the same, i was told to use the proxy
server called "analogue x" yes this does work, BUT when i
go on msn and try and play online games from the client
computers, it either says game unavailable or cannot
conect to server. it works perfectly fine on the host
computer but never works on any of the client computers,
can anyone tell me step by step instructions on what
programs i need and how to set it all up. much apreciated
to all who help.

Stephen,

Proxy servers like Analogx are OK for sharing basic internet service, but, as
you have found, are not great for special applications like games. Proxy
servers have to be setup for specific services.

You best solution, IMHO, would be a broadband router.

You have broadband, and 4 computers. Connecting the 4 computers with a router
is the responsible solution, and much more effective for games.

All computers will be safer. The router will block any malevolent internet
traffic. This further protects the internet, from your becoming infected and
spreading infection.

All computers will run better, with the router blocking the trash infection
traffic.

All computers will run independent of each other. Right now, you have to have
one computer on whenever you wish to access the internet from any other. If you
could make this setup work for games, game playing from the clients would be
affected by non-game activity on the host. With a router, neither is true.

If you can afford to have more then one computer, and broadband, you can afford
a router. For many reasons.

Cheers,
Chuck
