Internet Security

I purchased a new computer a month ago. Also bought Norton Internet Security
2008 and installed it. Every few day my status changes from "Secure" to
"Your temporary subscription has run out" (or something to that effect).
First few times I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it continued to do
the same. Since then I have spent hours online and on the phone to someone
in India(?). Get it fixed until a couple of days later. I am going to
return Norton and need to know the best virus program to use with Vista that
will actually run......Help

AVAST! 4.7.892 Home Edition for Vista x86 and x64

avast! 4 Home Edition is a full-featured antivirus package designed
exclusively for home users and non-commercial use. Both of these conditions
should be met! Our company offers the Home Edition free of charge, since, in
our opinion, it is possible to avoid global virus spreading by efficient
prevention; however, many users are not able to or do not want to pay for
antivirus software. This page will show you the most important features of
this program.
