Internet Replication

Hi

The Replication discussion group seems to have vanished, hope this will
reach the right folk.

I have had a look at posts regarding Internet Replication, but would really
appreciate some advice as to whether it will be possible in these
circumstances:

I have a client with a reasonably new desktop running Winxp and a new Win xp
laptop, both with Access 2k. They have been running a replicated db very
successfully for several years using direct replication over a peer to peer
LAN - no corruption problems either.

The problem is that the laptop user doesn't want to keep coming in to the
office to synchronise as it is inconvenient. They also want to set up some
kind of remote access from home to the office, which I guess would be using
Real VNC or PcAnywhere or similar. They want to sync from home via a
broadband connection.

I haven't had experience with Internet Replication, but from what I have
read here and on the MSDN site, it looks like they would need an Internet
Server, running NT or 2000/2003 Server and a whole lot else. I have used
Replication Manager, and thought that might suffice! I have also read David
Fenton's comments about not touching Internet Replication with a bargepole
and am now wondering if this is really at all feasible on a fairly low budget
- they won't want to be buying a server, that's for sure.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Many thanks!

Ondine.
