Internet protection fault

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem. I'm working
on the internet and all of a sudden I get an error message
that says iexplorer caused a general protection fault in
module USER.EXE at 0003.00001022. Then I lose everything I
was working on and it shuts down internet explorer.

Jane, I'd check for spyware or adware using the following utilities... some
find junk that others miss but all are relatively safe to use and I suggest
you see what you have aboard first and if unsure whether to delete or not
come back and ask.
