I am having the following problems and feel they must be connected:

- P2P transfers are slow, though not too worried about this
- Streaming audio does not work (possible just WMP, I have tested the
connection via RealPlayer and it thought I was not connected to the
Internet, but eventually got it working). When I try and listen to xfm
radio the box just says Connecting to media... and that's as far as it goes
- Port forwarding seems to make no difference or have no affect (see details
below), so I cannot connect to Steam (Half-Life 2) at all thus cannot play
the game.
- Pluck doesn't seem to update the feeds, WinRSS does not update and
IntraNews doesn't work (RSS readers).
- Windows Update will not download anything

The last point is the most worrying as there are vital updates that required
to be downloaded and as it can't check it automatically I have to manually
find the updates and download them when I remember to do so.

I have a wireless router (D-Link DSL-604+) and have port forwarded ports for
P2P and Steam. I have also set up computer as the DMZ (though not sure
whether they would have made any difference if things were working anyway,
should I do this?). I don't have the firewall enabled on the router as I
have ZoneAlarm Pro 5 installed (with McAfee VirusScan Pro 8). I have opened
the same ports within ZoneAlarm, but no change at all.

I have gone back and forth with Microsoft and there have not come up with a
solution as yet. I am running SP2 and thinking about installing Windows
from scratch (which would be a huge pain).

Sorry if I've missed out some info. Any ideas?

Hello,

Anyone have any ideas? It only affects one of my machines, so it cannot be
the router nor the firewall and anti-virus software. It must be a setting
or Windows?
