internet problems

Every time i open internet explorer i keep getting pop ups. They are mainly for 18+ and i keep being asked to download something which takes me ages to say no too. I have run loads of differnt spy programs to try and remove whatever is causing it. I used Spysweeper but this says i need to register fully before it will remove it. It also keeps setting my homepage to a warning page. Does anyone know of any free downlaods that i should use to get my internet working properle again

SpySweeer sounds like MAFIA protection, pay us or we'll or
we will burn your store down. But that is just a guess, it
may be a fine program.
Also, be sure you have a firewall enabled, I like Zone Alarm
from www.zonelabs.com
