Internet not working?

I have called my ISP and they say it is the computer. now I have changed the
cables, nic card but i still get a cable is unplugged message and no
internet. I have also done the ipconfig release and renew??

But what is happening between the ISP and the internet
connection at the wall? Is there any sign of activity on
at the connection of the NIC, such as a blinking LED? Able
to check the cable, NIC and system at another location?
