Internet exployer security connection

Harvey

I am running Windows XP using internet exployer 6. When I
access a secure web site I get the following message:
Internet Exployer was unable to link to the web page
requested. I can link to all unsecured web pages. When I
run disk scan the problem goes away for a couple of days
and then reappears again. Can someone help me? Thank you.

Hi Harvey,

See:
Troubleshoot Situations Where You Cannot Complete MSN Sign-up or Connect to
SSL Secured (128-Bit) Web Sites

In most cases, creating a new user profile has solved the problem.

Are you connecting through a hardware or software
firewall? If so, it is possible that the firewall is
denying access to logical port 443, which is the logical
port most commonly used for secure (https) web services.

If that port is open then the problem lies elsewhere, but
this is what I'd check first. It is a very common
firewall configuration error.
