While viewing any webpage on IE my laptop screen blinks
uncontrolably. Any idea's on what this could be and what I can do
to stop this?
Hmmm...
I would try a few things..
Like when was the last time you emptied the Temporary Internet Files in
Internet Explorer and what is the size set to?
------
- Open ONE copy of Internet Explorer.
- Select TOOLS -> Internet Options.
- Under the General tab in the "Temporary Internet Files" section, do the
following:
- Click on "Delete Cookies" (click OK)
- Click on "Settings" and change the "Amount of disk space to use:" to
something between 128MB and 512MB. (Betting it is MUCH larger right
now.)
- Click OK.
- Click on "Delete Files" and select to "Delete all offline contents"
(the checkbox) and click OK. (If you had a LOT, this could take 2-10
minutes or more.)
- Once it is done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, re-open Internet
Explorer.

When was the last time you scanned your system for adware/spyware with
several different antispyware applications?
------
I suggest LavaSoft Ad-Aware, Spybot Search and Destroy (and immunize with
it), SpywareBlaster and IE-SpyAd.

When was the last time you updated your hardware drivers from the
manufacturer? (Particularly the Video Card Driver in your case..)
When was the last time you ran a Disk Cleanup on your hard disk drive?
How about CHKDSK?
How about a defragmentation?
