Hi,

I am running Internet Explorer with Windows XP Home and
using Broadband. My Norton Antivirus was updated a few
days ago, but has not found anything.

I am experiencing problems accessing the Internet. Every
site I visit I get the message "The page could not be
opened". I have tried adjusting settings under
Internet/Options, disabling firewalls etc. I am receiving
E-mail OK through Outlook Express so no problem with
connection.

Problems initially started when an embedded home page was
put on IE. I followed the instructions from your site
using msconfig and found the following start up file which
is probably causing the forced homepage.

Start up item Command Location
regedit -s sys regedit -s sys.reg
Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run

Could I ask how to delete this file and resort to a normal
startup I presently have it switched off in the system
configuration utility.

I do not know if the problem with Internet Access is
linked with this problem. I would appreciate your advice.

Rgds
