internet explorer window vanishes when I go to certain web sites

In the past few days when I go to my credit union home page or sometimes a catalog web page the page flashes and immediately leaves the screen. The entire internet page, browser and everything disappears and the computer goes back to my desk top. Does anyone know what may be causing this problem? Any help is appreciated.

Spyware, adware, a browser hijacker or a browser parasite. Try Ad-Aware
and/or Spybot Search & Destroy.
