Hi,
I'm hoping some of you folks will be able to help me. Two days ago I was
hit with a trojan/adware/spyware. I have used the following and managed to
clean it up, or so I think.
Adaware (latest version)
Spy bot SD (latest version)
Ewido security suite
Etrust antivirus V7
I have Flushed DNS, used the Winsockfix ,
I have reset IE to defaults, disabled third party add-ons.
I have done a repair instal of XP Home SP2..
Each time I open IE and try a web address I get the 'page cannot be displayed'
or dns error.
I also use the Mozilla Firefox browser and that works fine. I am able to
connect to ISP for email and web pages via Firefox and Outlook Express. So I
don't think the problem is connection related.
I usually use Firefox as my default browser but I need IE to download updates
from Microsoft.
I am at my wits end trying to resolve this problem. I hope someone can help.
