Internet Explorer slow load but fast browse

My company has multiple 2000 Professional pc's with IE 6.0
that have a VERY SLOW response when opening Internet
Explorer. This is only when opening a new instance of
Internet Explorer. The pc will hang for about 30 seconds.
After it is open browsing is very fast and responsive.

Any idea how to fix this or what may be the cause?

Clear your History and Temporary Internet Files folders completely - IE
reads them when first starting and this can slow down it's loading:
