Internet Explorer shut down when downloading audio

When I attempt to download audio, I get a message which
states "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience". When I click on the error codes at
bottom, I get appname = iexplorer.exe; appver =
6.0.2800.1106; modname = winmm.dll; modver = 4.3.0.1998;
offset = 00006633. Any ideas on how to solve this
problem??
