Internet Explorer problem

I'm having a very strange problem. Internet explorer won't
load any web sites.

My internet connection is working fine: I am on MSN
Messenger, using Netscape for a web browser, and its all
working perfectly. But when I open Internet Explorer, it
says "The Page Cannot be Displayed" - for all pages!

I've tried many different pages and triple and quadruple
checked that I'm typing the address right. And its not just
the pages because they are working fine in netscape.

Also, if I "trick" IE by opening a folder and typing the
address into the folder address bar, it works fine. Its
just when IE is opened normally.

I've gone to Microsofts IE site and downloaded the most
recent IE - still same results.

Any suggestions????
..

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

I use spy bot regularly - it is fully updated and my
computer has been cleaned. Still no go. Also, McAfee
Virusscan has an Spyware feature that I've used to clean up
my computer. Still same problem!
