Internet explorer pop ups

Dear All,
I have noticed since I started using broadband that pop ups are
appearing whenever I use Internet explorer (ver 6.0.2900). These occur
especially when I surf the BBC web site. I have SP2 installed and the
pop up blocker goes off a lot, yet porno pages etc still appear. I use
NAV and spy bot to detect spies. What else can I do to prevent the pop
ups appearing?
