Internet Explorer Opens by itself with unwanted download

[Frustrated]

In my home network, recently Internet Explorer 6.0 Opens
by itself with unwanted download requests or blank
windows. This is in machines with Win 98, 2000 ME and Win
XP. I have run spybot and also updated all the computers
fully with the required security updates. I also have
firewalled the machines as in the 1,2,3 instructions and
have Black Ice firewall software and popup blockers in my
browser (Yahoo DSL Browser) running.

Suggestions are appreciated

There's a lot more than SpyBot S & D to try.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
