I am running Windows XP Home Edition SP1. Internet explorer will not
display certain pop-up windows (embedded calendars on web pages and
"Forward this to a friend" on web pages for example). I suspect I may
have disabled something when trying to block unwanted pop-ups - the law
of unexpected consequences raises its ugly head. Can anyone suggest how
to remedy this situation?

Silbury, go to Internet Exp>Tools>Internet Options>Security. Make sure
all the Zones are using Default. Also, click on
Advanced and check any boxes that you think were unchecked. Or just
choose Default.

Rich - thanks for the response. I have defaulted all the IE settings,
but the problem remains.

Regards

Silbury

I think most popup blockers have a mechanism for disabling the blocker when
a popup is needed, as you describe. In my case, hold down Ctrl button, both
while clicking and for about 5 seconds after, until you see the window
outline. If this doesn't work, consult the company from which you got the
popup blocker. They will tell you.
