Internet Explorer links to local file system

Hi,

I have an ASP page that returns links to the C: drive, like this one:
file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/nordineb/My%20Documents/case1.ppt

It worked before but now nothing happen when I click on the link. I must use
"copy shortcut" and paste the shortcut into a new IE window. Is this a new
security option?

I noticed this link works fine:
file://Another-fileserver/tmp/myfile.pdf

Is there a registry setting that fixes this problem?

You may receive an error message when you click a hyperlink that references
a file on your local computer or on your local network in Internet Explorer
