Internet Explorer Java support

D

David

I recently purchased a new computer with windows xp
installed and Internet Explorer version 6.0.2800
installed.

It doesn't seem to support Java Applets. Is this
normal? If not how can I fix it so it does?

Appreciate any help
David

Internet Explorer 6.x supports Java applets if you have a Java Virtual
Machine (JVM) installed.
Microsoft is currently prevented from shipping our Java VM see
http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/

If you require Java support you will have to source a Java VM from elsewhere

If you are actually interested in the reasons behind our withdrawal of the
Microsoft Java VM then you can read all about the issues and the court case
Sun Microsystems pursued against Microsoft at:
