internet explorer "hangs"

I have problems with IE7 under Vista. It hangs very often when browsing just
normal websites. They work fine with other browsers. The only way to get out
of it is by killing the process with task manager. Has anybody exprienced
this too? Anything I can do about it?
 
In addition to checking your plug ins, make sure you have the latest
versions of the following installed:
- JAVA SE Runtime
- Adobe Flash Player

If the problem persist, the best recommendation is to reset Internet
Explorers settings, in IE, go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced (tab) >
under 'Reset Internet Explorer settings' > click 'Reset'.

cool thanks to both of you. When turning off the skype plugins the crashes
dissappear :)
