Internet Explorer hangs

Since last couple of days, Internet Explorer on my XP Home laptop does not
work at all. After it is launched, it comes up with the intitial screen and
starts consuming memory indefinitely. Fianally the machine goes out of
memory. I tried to reinstall following the procedure as described at
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378/EN-US/ but with no success. Default
webpage is "blank". I deleted all cookies and files using Internet Options
under Control Panel. Tried to use the XP CD, but does not allow.

Any ideas please ?

Download and run HijackThis;

Post back the URL where you posted your log *not* the entire log.
