internet explorer error when opening any program or web page

Everytime I try to open any program or web page an
internet explorer window appears and says"ERROR..explorer
will now close".It closes out everything on my computer,
when you press "ok".

This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)
