Internet Explorer Error message bad request

I use internet explorer to access internet via cable modem. When I go to any website I get an error message 400 bad request, "Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. request header field is missing colon separator." the message is followed by: , aplication/x-garscade-launch, */

I run windows 98
 
You've been infected with a browser hijacker.
Dump your temporary internet, cookie, and history files.
Then click the Programs Tab and click the Reset Web Settings
button, uncheck the "reset my home page box" and then click OK
and OK again.

....please explain how this relates to FrontPage.
