Internet Explorer encountered a problem and needs to close

I have been unable to navigate in Internet Explorer
because it keeps shutting down. There was an error
referring to the mwsvm.exe file shutting down due to an
error as well. I sent an error report to Microsoft but I
was wondering if anyone can tell me if this problem could
be related to the MS configuration I have set up on my
system? I was told to uncheck a few items in my systems
configuration because my system resources were being
exhausted. Now I cannot navigate in Internet Explorer at
all. Please help.
