Internet Explorer closing

Hello, latley when I'm on the internet I lose connection and a dail up sign on
will come up, for MSN I don't use dail up I use cable. I've done a virus
scan and adware scan from safemode and nothing was found. I'm up to date with
all my updates, running xp home sp 2 I used nortons antivirus 2005 up to
date
and adware 6.0 up to date Please help

Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Connections > Check
"Never dial a connection".
