Internet Explorer and Firefox

I am having a problem with my Internet Explorer, when I open up IE, it goes
to my homepage, but when I type something in the address bar, and hit enter,
it opens that link I just typed in Firefox. What is wrong with this?
 
Firefox could be ur default browser.

Any advise given is my attempt to show appreciation for all
the excellent help I've received here but I'm no MVP so it
may only apply NUGS (Normally, Usually, Generally, Sometimes :)
 
Nope, I just made it the default, and now it comes up with an error that says
"Application not found"
 
It seems to only do this with the address bar, there must be something in the
registry thats wrong.

There are various plugins/extensions which redirect pages between IE and
Firefox. I'd check for those first.
